   Very similar to other German pressings, but non-embossed. There is another version of Supertramp - Brother Where You Bound which 1) has a different Price Code "AR" and 2) no black small separate printing line under "Produced by." on back sleeve. 3) no label code on back sleeve. Back cover: LP Y [Y is in a square].

   Supertramp's CD "Brother Where You Bound" stands as an underrated watershed in the annals of progressive rock. True, the band as a collective didn't achieve the commercial success post-Hodgson but they felt emboldened enough to push forth in what can be either a move forward into new territory, or else it's a coming home to the dense-yet-catchy sound of their earlier albums prior to Breakfast in /5().

   In a thematic sense, Brother Where You Bound is dated and hasn't aged very well -- Davies' politically oriented lyrics are heavy-handed -- but the music is a pleasure. The crystalline sound of the album, particularly Davies' piano, is breathtaking; kudos to co-producers David Kershenbaum and Supertramp and engineer Norman Hall. The hit single.

   The album contains longer songs and thrilling extended jams, allowing the group to really stretch out. Although Roger Hodgson is missed, what could have been a major problem for Davies & company was turned into a great musical opportunity. There's no need to worry: "Brother Where You Bound" is pure, powerful Supertramp from start to finish.
